Statement
Knowing the power of images enables us to express feelings and thoughts on how we see the world. People react to those in ways unforeseen. It is that power that I try to harness by letting the abstract in the figurative do the work of allowing the viewer to fill in the gaps and make it their own. My work as of now focuses on images of people and areas that are relevant to our current geopolitical and social context. This does include people from the past who have had an influence on today’s thoughts and events. This is done through multiple medias including but not limited to painting, film, animation and digital painting. I enjoy mixing media as this allows even more freedom in the choice of shapes, colors, textures and more.
